Ai IWAMOTO / 岩本 愛
MSc in Sustainability Science at the United Nations University.
Ai was born in Saitama, lived in Tokyo for 10+ years, and decided to move to Hyuga in 2020 as she fell in love with the ocean of Hyuga.
She holds a bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Tsukuba, where she also gained a teacher's license in English and social studies. After working in the financial industry and IT for seven years, she joined the Japanese Olympic Committee and worked in international relations from 2015 to 2019. She has shifted her focus to sustainability issues since 2019. She recently graduated from the United Nations University in Tokyo and holds a master's degree in sustainability science. She is also engaged with an international environmental NGO - Surfrider Foundation Japan and Nippon Surfing Association, as well as local environmental activities in Hyuga. She regularly enjoys longboarding in Okuragahama Beach in Hyuga.
埼玉県出身、東京での社会人生活を経て、趣味のサーフィンをきっかけに日向の海のすばらしさに触れ、2020年に日向市に移住。
筑波大学で国際関係学を専攻後、外資系金融、ベンチャー起業などを経て、2014年~2019年は(公財)日本オリンピック委員会で国際渉外業務に従事。加速する自然界の変化を見過ごすことができず、2019年にサステナビリティ分野へキャリア転向。CSRコンサルタントを経て、2020年に国連大学サステナビリティサイエンス修士課程に入学、海岸管理と沿岸域の人々の暮らしをテーマに研究を行い、2022年7月にサステナビリティサイエンス修士号を取得。
日向では、漁業者やその他市民代替と共に、藻場再生活動などに取り組む。
Surfrider Foundation Japan 参与、日本サーフィン連盟 国際委員、ワーケーション協会 理事、全日本女子野球連盟 理事。
